Where is shimmermist cave located
I turn. I also had that WTF-moment but I didn't crap my pants I tried to sneak attack them with an arrow, hide and repeat. This was my only chance to defeat them at that point. I killed the falmer with this process took forever but the centurion was mathematically impossible to be finished by this method because of how early in the game that was. I decided to leave and return later.
I forgot about this so I returned much later and I killed it with 2 or 3 arrows, I think. However, it wouldn't attack me and just kept trying to hump me, so i just killed it without it attacking me. For some reason I ignored that cave from the start and now I am lvl Having switched the difficulty on master recently and after reading all the above comments I decided to go prepared, so I took with me a bunch of resist potions, a few damage Health 50 points poisons, Mjorn the Lioness wife and also used the shout that brings a dead female warrior from Sovngarde.
So the fight was feeling slightly hard as I had to withdraw weapon and heal behind a pillar at some point. I must admit that if I had not read your comments, I would walk to a certain death, specially after getting all cocky for killing those Chaurus thingies. Chaurus are very hard to sneak up on when your sneak skill is low, and I'd always wind up with all 3 of them chasing me.
A ramp leads down into the water, but there is nothing of interest there. A leveled creature prowls the area, such as a skeever or frostbite spider.
Further down the tunnel is a larger chamber with a sole Falmer as a lookout on the second level. There is a trip wire to a claw trap at the entrance to deal with. Below is a small alcove with dead bandits. To the left is a chest and tent on the way up to the upper level where the Falmer is.
There is a rock with Falmer weapons, helmets and chaurus eggs on the northern edge of the upper level. The passage leads to the entrance to Shimmermist Grotto. Shimmermist Grotto is the deepest portion of the cave system and by far the deadlier one. Falmer are found in larger numbers and, descending deeper, many chaurus egg sacs begin to appear.
The passage leads out on to a ledge with two leveled Falmer opposite, next to a Falmer tent with gates on the entrance. In front of this is a dead goat and inside are several chaurus egg sacs and an unlocked Falmer chest. There is an earthen ramp leading down to the southwest.
At the bottom a narrow passage heads west and leads to a chamber guarded by a chaurus. There is a skeleton in the middle of the floor.
The exit is to the south and after a short passage it turns and opens into another chamber with two leveled chaurus in a feeding pit below.
There is a ramp down on your right and a bridge that crosses the pit ahead. In the bottom of the pit there are three more skeletons. Another ramp leads back up on the far side, east of the bridge. To the west is an unlocked Falmer chest, to the right of a narrow passage. This continues to the west before turning south and entering a wider passage guarded by a leveled Falmer.
There are a couple more fly amanita and white cap fungi growing in the passage— see bugs. Really reminds me of the wonder the game has. Wait til you get down to Blackreach. Glory to Arstotzka! User Info: AKFrost. My first experience with falmer was in Nchuand-Zel, that was awesome. Shimmermist Cave, maybe I should go visit it. I don't think I have yet. I know you can't run forever. User Info: azulmono Mentalpatient87 posted I must have made 5 different characters or more before I ever went down there, and was definitely used to the game and what it had to throw at me.
I was still in awe when I saw it. Beautiful place. I always visit Shimmermist Cave before I enter Whiterun.
I don't know why but I can attribute it to the fact that on my very first play-through, I saw the Headless Horseman on my way to Whiterun from Riverwood and I chased him. I lost him pretty soon, so I kept wandering around in circles until I stumbled upon Shimmermist. It was amazing and ever since, I visit that place to increase my sneak skill early on.
