How do five ten shoes fit
Thanks for the suggestions, I can see I am just going to have to order some 13s and see how they work on the weird FOG feet.

Yes definitely come up small by two euro sizes in my case. Back to the drawing board! Tracey Full Member. Steve, Zappos Customer , April 26, I usually wear a woman's 11 wide in Rykas and I went with a men's 9. My main reason for getting shoes just for mountain bike riding was because my feet kept slipping off the pedals and I knew that one of these days that could lead to something worse then just loosing the momentum needed to get up the next hill.
I was hesitant about getting these because of the price and I also thought for sure they'd look big and clunky. I'm really happy I did. I've taken them on several trail rides--each a couple of hours long--and also used them on my indoor workouts on my spin bike. My feet feel so secure on the pedals --no slipping--and also supported--as if the bike pedals extend the entire length of my feet. And amazingly they don't look big and clunky.
I like how they look. I don't notice any arch support in them--they seem pretty flat--but that works for me because I have a low arch. Insoles come out so you could add your own insole.
They do feel extremely stiff when you try them on. I've never had a pair of mtn bike shoes and walking around the house testing them out for proper fit I didn't like them too much. I have a job where I'm on my feet all day and I couldn't imagine wearing these--walking-standing- for even half a day. It wasn't until I got on my bike with them that I understood: these shoes are not for walking or standing: these shoes are made for riding! He's an avid mountain biker and insisted these were the best and only sneakers he wanted for riding. He was thrilled with the look and fit of the product. He said the grip on his pedal was awesome and he was able to keep his feet on the pedals while doing tricks. Highly recommend these as they are well made. A little pricey but seem worth the price. Kimberly, Zappos Customer , December 27, Perfect fit. They fit perfectly and went for a bike ride right after opening them. Great support. They get a 10 out of Anonymous, Zappos Customer , October 9, I wear size 8 and these were right on the money.
Wore them for a 3 day Utah backcountry Mtn-Bike extravaganza and they performed up to expectation with solid pedal support, little to no slippage, and no foot fatigue at the end of the day.
Highly recommend! Scott, Zappos Customer , October 2, Fit great. Totally secure on the mountain bike with flat pedals. The sole is sticky but not annoyingly so. Tim, Zappos Customer , September 30, I needed some flat, stiff shoes for a bike tour. I am a woman's size 10 wide, so I figured the men's shoes might fit more comfortably, and 8. Carolyn, Zappos Customer , May 31, I'd say the Freeriders are spot on in length, and provide plenty of width in the toe box for most feet.
In fact, if anything there's enough room for me that I added a second insole to fill the space a bit for a snugger fit and better arch support. The insole it comes with is removable, and the shoes are built for protection and durability. More like Merrell light hikers than Vans, and the weigh accordingly.

I'm usually a good fit on a Shimano 46E, currently borrowing a pair of a friend's AM45's in a 46 and they're just slightly too snug, but I hear Shimano come up small in general. I did have a 46 in a filter and they feel massive on my feet.
Is it better to go a size down with Five Ten and hope they're true to size? Or are they a comfortable fit vs other sizes.
Also, no retailers here stock Five Ten, so I can't try locally the fit I'm afraid. I wore a 44 shimano and now wear a 43 five ten. Have found some of the sizing with shimano has had to do with their lack of width for me.
Yeah, it's a lack of width for me also. Wondering if I order a 46 Five Ten they'll be too big, wouldn't want that. Most of the info I could find was that order one size up in Shimano and just your normal size in Hey Mate, I bought a pair of Hellcats a few months ago. If anything, for me personally, they are ever so slightly on the bigger side, which I much prefer to them being on the smaller side. FatMuz Likes Dirt. I own a few pairs of Five Tens and I've found their sizing to be pretty true to the standard.
