How old is a millermatic 200

So last night I got all my gas fittings in order and was able to hook up the gas bottle so I plugged it in flipped the switch and nothing. I figured the breaker was off because when I flipped the switch the fan didn't even come on. All I heard was the heavy old mechanical switch engage. No electric noises no fan, nothing. So first step I checked power at the receptacle, good I then checked power after the switch, good so then I followed power back to this junction on what appears to be a red piece of fiberglass or something where the wires start to turn into spaghetti anyone familiar with these welders probably knows what I'm talking about and that's where the diagnosing ended.

It was late I was tired and discouraged and I didn't really look too much more into it. Has anyone had a similar problem? Any advice? This thing is from the late 70s early 80s so I doubt it has a safety, but the cover is off, is there any kind of safety that prevents it from working without the sheetmetal on it?

I looked quickly but didn't see anything. I see a chassis ground on the bottom so Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Sorry for the novel. Re: Old Millermatic problem Borrowed this picture from cdubya hope he doesn't mind. I circled the red junction I was talking about in blue, sorta miller blue. Figured it was fitting.

Re: Old Millermatic problem That's the input power re-connect panel where the jumpers are configured for the appropriate supply power. Have you checked the small glass fuse in its holder just above and to the left of the main power switch? Re: Old Millermatic problem Yes I did. Forgot to mention that. Thank you. Where can a person find one??

Ebay has nothing. Is there "wreckers" for welders? Miller no longer makes them. None left on their shelves. Maybe a retailer has one collecting dust on a shelf?

Why are you obsessing about the drive motor? Personally, I think the price is a little too high for that vintage; you can find good used MM's in that range lately. Used prices have been rising If you have the serial number you can look up the age here Also mm's sell for around here. Super portable to, just grab the lb welder and set it in the back of the truck Sounds so easy i think i will throw out my ln MM weight Lbs with gun Up to the OP's Needs Guess that "weldingdude" A new has a current rebate and will come with FULL 3 year warranty.

The is a multi volt machine. I love my and Both are fine machines, depends on what you want more, low volt circuit and lightweight, or high duty cycle. Thanks for the all the help. I cannot see the benefit of the higher duty cycle and higher amp for what I work on and storing a welder that big. It will make someone very happy! Not interested in a "All in One" anything. Most times they only do it all so so Does anyone have any insight to build quality of the new ?

Any repair stories? Everywhere I read about the , people love them! I didn't read any negative comments. The seems to prefer.
